Best time to visit

Best time to visit this beach town can be from June to December, which means rains or winters. As the place remains a bit more crowded on weekends, weekdays are advisable to visit. However, few water sports are not offered on weekdays, so choice is yours!

While Kashid can prove to be a paradise for sea food lovers, it can be somewhat troublesome for vegans to find a pure vegetarian restaurant there. Though some non vegetarian food serving places offer veg and Jain options, but its better not to expect yummy taste from them. The Beach

Kashid beach is one of the most alluring ones in of the state. It’s like a thirst quencher for water sports enthusiast. If you are not keen about adventure sports, even then, Kashid will please you as you stroll on the beach or have bowl of freshly prepared noodles or sip tender coconut water as you lie on the cot offered by the local vendors. There are also some Buddhist caves near beach and visiting them can be an adventure in itself.
Janjira Fort, Murud

Built in 17th century, Janjira Jal-Durg meaning the sea fort was constructed by an Abssynian minister, Malik Ambar. Ambar was then in the service of Sultan of Ahmednagar. What makes this fort different from the rest is that it’s not located on land; it’s like an island in the middle of the sea. Its located at an island just near to Murund village. Also known as Murud- Janjira, it is situated at a distance of 21 kilometres from Kashid beach and it takes about 25 minutes to reach this destination.

The fort is built on an oval rock off Arabian Sea coast and the considered as one of the strongest marine forts of the country. The most exciting part of this destination is reaching there through sailboats from Rajapuri. It was made very thoughtfully and an amazing example of ancient Mughal architecture. Also, as you near the fort, you would keep on wondering about the entrance of the fort, because can be seen only when one is about 40 feet (12 m) away from it. It has a small postern gate towards the open sea for escape.
History lovers cannot afford missing a visit to this place if they are in Kashid.
Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary

Located at a distance of just 13 kilometres from Kashid, It takes hardly half an hour to reach Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary. There are four main trails through the sanctuary that take in the main waterholes, Gunyacha Maal, Chikhalgaan and Phansadgaan, that are some of the best places to see wildlife.
Representative fauna at this sanctuary includes Indian giant squirrel, barking deer, hyena, leopard or panther, Bombay earth snake, Ceylon cat snake, Sambar and Mouse deer.
